What a last riding day! We left our wonderful hotel at 9am and cruised along the scenic coast line. 124 miles were waiting for us and the weather was perfect. We had decided to go for nice roads instead of culture to compensate yesterday’s long haul – and we had Japan’s finest riding! Roads of all kinds, down to one lane and extremely twisty, sweepers through scenic rural regions, beautiful houses and tea farms everywhere! A closed road caused some confusion – the official detour ended up in a Shinto Shrine!
We needed about 6 hours riding time to cover the distance – that’s how tiny and twisty the roads were!
The last hour was in intense traffic in Kyoto and then we arrived at the Brighton Hotel! A wonderful tour is over, no incidents, no accidents – we had a great time and tonight we go out to a local restaurant for dinner.
Sayonara Japan, you’re a fascinating and wonderful country!
